About Course
The Senior 4 English Language course prepares South Sudanese students for the South Sudan Certificate of Secondary Education (CSE) English exam. It is built directly from the official Ministry of General Education and Instruction Secondary English 4 Student’s Book and Teacher’s Guide, and follows the same topics, texts and sequence your printed book uses — so what you study here matches what you study in class.
What this course covers
The course follows the structure of the real CSE exam: Composition, Grammar, Summary and Comprehension. Alongside the textbook’s own content, it adds short lessons on skills the exam tests but the book does not teach directly — summary technique, for example, which is worth 15 marks. Any such addition is labelled so you always know what comes from your book and what ElimuBoost has written.
Available now
Unit 1: Gender Issues — seven lessons covering gender discrimination and inequality, debating and discussion, research and advocacy, comparatives and superlatives, storytelling with gerunds, and personal letters. Includes the poem Equality (he for she) set by your Student’s Book.
Unit 2: Transport — six lessons covering transport and the economy, description and comparison, the challenges facing transport in South Sudan, summary writing, the poem Public transport nation, and articles.
Every lesson ends with a short exercise that draws its questions at random from a larger pool, so you get a different set each time you retake it. Every unit ends with a revision page and a unit test at 70% to pass.
Still to come
The remaining units of the Senior 4 syllabus — Corruption, Communication Technology, Culture and Society, Democracy, and Justice — are in development, in the order the Student’s Book sets them.
Who this course is for
Senior 4 students in South Sudan preparing for the CSE English exam, often studying on a phone with limited data. Every lesson is written to be read on a small screen, and lessons are self-contained — you do not need the printed book in front of you to follow them.
A note on review
This content has been written from the official Ministry textbook and Teacher’s Guide. It has not yet been through a formal review by a qualified Senior 4 teacher. If you spot something that does not match your book, please tell us.
